Good mail for people who miss their best people.
The Good Mourning Post is an every-other-month mail club for people grieving the loss of an immediate family member.
Every two months, you'll receive an envelope filled with 5 thoughtfully created and curated pieces exploring the very human experience of grief. Envelopes will range from art and notes... to stickers, paper goods, keepsakes, words worth saving, and the occasional thing that might actually make you laugh.
Each post includes:
- 5 pieces of art, mail, stickers, paper goods, keepsakes, or other small surprises
- A new theme or perspective on living with loss
- A thoughtful mix of sincerity, comfort, humor, and wit
- Mail designed to help put words to some of the things grief makes difficult to explain
Delivered every other month.
Because grief doesn't only exist at funerals, anniversaries, or in the first few months after someone dies.
It follows us into regular Tuesdays, vacations, the nail salon, the grocery store aisles, at your desk, in the shower... everywhere. Grief is with us in the really funny moments, just as much as in the really hard ones.
This isn't mail about “moving on.” Spoiler alert: that's not a thing.
It's mail about keeping on. Around here, we believe grief and joy can coexist, there's no right or wrong way to grieve, and no person's loss needs to be compared to another's to matter.
Sometimes you need advice.
Sometimes you need a good cry.
And sometimes you just need something in your mailbox that reminds you that you're not alone.
Welcome to The Good Mourning Post: The mail club none of us planned on needing.
The Price
The price is set at $18 because 18 represents life. We honor our friends, loved ones, besties with the number 18 and 18% of all profits will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in honor of my beautiful mother.
About The Author/Artist:
Hi, I'm Marissa! My mom, Genevieve, passed away in December 2024. Since then, I've looked at the world through a different lens. Rose colored glasses? Nope — threw those out and now every thing feels a little bit darker.
But not always darker... but always? Grief is confusing and requires us to exist in two realities. As I grieve, I'm using my artistic express (collage art) and my writing skills (if I do say so myself) to process and hopefully remind others that there's just a few of us (a lot of us, actually) that are holding the weight of loss in our hands like a small, helpless bird.
I created The Good Mourning Post because grief needs to be normalized. It needs to take up more space in our day to day lives so we can stop hiding from it and process it in a healthy way. have to stop hiding it. I created this for myself. I created it for you. I created it for the memories of the people we've loved and lost. I created it to think about my mom (as if I could ever not).
